Bonnie Brae is very excited to announce that the Far Hills Race Meeting Association will be the presenting sponsor at the 31st Annual Tartan Ball, which takes place on February 25th at the Park Savoy. Guy Torsilieri, Far Hills Race Meeting Association Co-Chairman explained: “Bonnie Brae is a fabulous organization doing great work. The Far Hills Race Meeting Association Board is very excited to support them and their endeavors. We look to expand our support of Bonnie Brae, and grow our support of other local charitable organizations whose goals align with our mission”
The Far Hills Race Meeting originated from the Essex Hunt, a fox hunting event in Montclair, NJ that started in 1870. The founders of the Essex Hunt organized the Essex Fox Hounds club in 1913. Since its members and participants would hunt on farmers and landowners’ properties, the Essex Fox Hounds created an event to thank them. This became known as the Farmer’s Day Race Meeting and incorporated the New Jersey Hunt Cup Steeplechase, which is on the Far Hills Race Meeting card.
The Essex Fox Hounds moved its event to the Grant B. Schley estate in 1916. This would eventually become the Far Hills Race Meeting at the Moorland Farm. Since then, races have been held at the site, except for a brief hiatus during World War II.
Bonnie Brae is grateful to the Far Hills Race Meeting Association (FHRMA) for their support of the 31st Annual Tartan Ball as the Title Sponsor, and looks forward to an incredible event.
