The Benefits of Specialized Education

Many of the boys who come to Bonnie Brae have suffered some form of abuse, neglect or abandonment and arrive after an average of 5.8 out-of-home placements. We offer these boys a stable environment to learn, grow, and heal. Our program is a nationally accredited Residential Treatment center that is staffed with teams of clinicians, special education teachers, and trained residential staff. There are a multitude of benefits to our comprehensive special education program, which:
  1. Provides students with special experiences. We strive to give these children life experiences they missed out on. A few weeks ago, we took our boys horseback riding and fishing.
  2. Establishes connections. We establish emotional connections with our students, in order to make them feel that the environment is open and welcoming. They also establish connections with their peers and develop friendships.
  3. Develops strengths. Our teachers work with the boys to discover their interests, strengths, and hidden talents. After, they can select to learn marketable job skills in a variety of areas.
