As the Community Programs Coordinator, Joe is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Bonnie Brae’s three Residential Treatment Center community homes located in Bridgewater, Bound Brook and New Brunswick. These programs utilize the Nurtured Heart Approach as well as provide therapeutic services, life skills, family and individual therapy, job coaching, independent living skills, and community recreation for 21 young men ages 15- 21.
A 15 year employee of Bonnie Brae, Joe began his career as a Child Care Counselor in direct care before moving up to Residential Supervisor and then to his current role. Joe left Bonnie Brae briefly in 2006 to serve as a Program Manager at Kids Peace in Orefield Pennsylvania. Upon returning in 2008, Joe resumed his role as Residential Supervisor where he was tasked with the responsibility of overseeing the opening of Bonnie Brae’s three community homes. In the homes, Joe emphasizes a philosophy of youth education, employment, community service, self-sufficiency and togetherness.
Joe is a Licensed Associate Counselor with a Master’s degree (MS) in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Rutgers University.
