Chris joined Bonnie Brae’s team in October 2018 as Chief Operating Officer. Chris’ motivation to support vulnerable populations began while he was earning his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The College of Staten Island. The college is on the former site of the Willowbrook State School and learning about the atrocities that took place there motivated Chris to pursue a career that afforded him the opportunity to provide support, services and advocacy for people in need. Chris later went on to earn his Master’s in Counseling from Rider University and became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Chris has 20+ years of experience working with historically under-served children, adolescents and families in inpatient, outpatient, juvenile justice, residential, community, and alternative school settings.
Chris spent 15 years working at Carrier Clinic, beginning on their inpatient adolescent unit as a tech and moving up to various crisis management, clinical and leadership positions before moving on to a senior management position at Silver Springs – Martin Luther School, where he oversaw the administrative and clinical operations of their 72-bed residential treatment facility. Prior to joining Bonnie Brae’s team, he served as Director of Treatment Services at St. Gabriel’s Hall, a 150-bed residential program for adjudicated boys in the Philadelphia area. Chris also volunteers on the Bucks County Youth Aid Panel which aims to divert youth away from the juvenile justice system.
At Bonnie Brae, Chris oversees the Directors supporting the residential, clinical, health office, operations, IIC, community residential and education departments. Chris finds the experience of working with the staff and youth at Bonnie Brae to be exceptionally rewarding and believes strongly in the value of empowerment, engagement, collaboration, communication, and accountability. Chris is also very grateful for the opportunity to work alongside some of the most talented professionals in the industry at Bonnie Brae.
Chris, his wife and two sons live in southeastern Pennsylvania and in his free time he enjoys hiking, cycling, music, technology, playing his guitar, working on cars (or anything with an engine), home improvement and spending time with his family.
