From CEO, Bill Powers:
Hard to believe that one year ago we were busy dodging falling branches and anxiously scrounging for gasoline! Sandy reminded us of how feeble we all are in the face of mother nature’s fury. But Sandy also brought out the best in our Bonnie Brae staff. While struggling without power at home, and with one eye constantly on the gas gauge, folks still made the dicey commute to work. Once here creativity abounded. Who will ever forget Kim and her crew cooking in the dark? Or residential staff and residents carrying heavy limbs and whole trees out of roadways? Or school staff teaching in darkened classrooms and darker hallways? Or discovering , often in a state of extreme urgency, that almost all of our on campus bathrooms lack windows and natural light? Oops. So, a big shout out and thanks to all who helped us weather the storm! We are the better for the experience!
