From CEO, Bill Powers:
This week has been chock full of holiday dinners across campus and even in our transitional living homes. These dinners have been a tradition for years and were originally designed to free the kitchen staff from having to prepare dinner during the days before the traditional all campus holiday dinner. However, the dinners have become over time much more. They have come to represent the traditional extended family holiday meal. Staff members prepare their favorite dishes at home and then bring them to the cottage holiday dinner. The houses are decorated and guests are invited to dine with the staff and residents. There is always some healthy competition as to who has the best meal.On Monday night I attended dinner at our Bound Brook house. The bar has been set very high based on the work of the three Iron Chefs who cooked up a storm at last night’s Bound Brook/ New Brunswick holiday dinner: Joe, Rashara, and Nee! The Bound Brook dining room was overflowing with Turkey, chicken, beef, mac ‘n cheese, green bean casserole, jambalaya, rice and beans, and so much more. Truthfully the buffets in Atlantic City would be jealous ! And who knew that our very own CFO was a master of toddlers ! Sitting close to Ann I found myself nodding off to sleep after eating all of my green bean casserole. What a talented story teller. Anyone with toddlers in tow would be well advised to have Ann sit at their table during future holiday dinners. The Bound Brook house was very nicely decorated and everyone helped with set up and clean up. A great holiday dinner!
