Student Volunteer Award Goes to……Bonnie Brae Ambassador Mike C. Congratulations!
A resident of Bonnie Brae’s New Brunswick home, Mike C., has been selected by a committee at Bridges Outreach to be their 2007 Ellen Maher Volunteer award winner! This award is given annually in honor of Ellen Maher who was an executive director of Bridges Outreach. Mike was selected based on his record of working to feed the homeless for Bridges and his past volunteer work at a summer camp for handicapped children. He was selected for this award in competition with other seniors from many of New Jersey’s finest schools.
The Ellen Maher Volunteer Award Description…In honor and celebration of Ellen Maher’s past service as executive director of BRIDGES and her dedication to the homeless, an award is given annually to one or more graduating high school seniors that are active volunteers for BRIDGES.
The Ellen Maher Volunteer Award will be given to an individual who has faithfully and effectively engaged with fellow students to support the work of BRIDGES and who has also proved him or herself to be a friend to the homeless, with whom we are in community. This individual will also exhibit traits, which in the opinion of the BRIDGES Board of Directors, make it likely that he or she will continue to thoughtfully and lovingly touch the world in important and meaningful ways.
