Nate G.’s Award - Bonnie Brae Drum Corps Leader.

Bonnie Brae student Nate approached Bonnie Brae’s CEO Bill Powers about possible support for forming a drum corps. Bill Powers, quickly agreed but suggested that Nate find a faculty advisor with musical knowledge as well as recruit fellow students to perform in the drum corps. Nate accepted the challenge and within a few weeks, with help from staff advisor, William Randolph, had the corps called the Bonnie Brae Knights, before a spellbound crowd at Bonnie Brae’s annual “Friends and Family Dinner”.

Since their debut, November 18, 2004, the Bonnie Brae Knights were inspired after receiving positive reinforcement from the audience and were prepared for a series of additional public appearances: performed at the pre-game show at the Nets vs. Knicks game, Miles for Matheny event, Ricola Bike Race, 76ers vs. Pistons pre-game show and more.

Nate G. was honored with a leadership award for his great efforts in starting and maintaining the Bonnie Brae Knights drum corps.
